How to Reset Your Garage Door Opener

Resetting your garage door opener is necessary when you move into a new home, add a new remote, or troubleshoot connectivity issues. General Steps (Most Brands): 1. Locate the LEARN button on your opener motor unit (usually a colored button) 2. Press and hold it for 6-10 seconds until the indicator light goes out — this clears all previous codes 3. To add a new remote: press the LEARN button once, then within 30 seconds press the button on your remote you want to program 4. The light will flash to confirm the code is saved For myQ/Chamberlain: - Use the myQ app to manage remotes and access codes For Genie: - Hold the PROG button on the remote and the receiver simultaneously For Craftsman: - Look for the purple or orange LEARN button Still having trouble? Our technicians can reprogram any opener brand on-site.
